Hmm. steering help, is it normal to be loose ??

Default Hmm. steering help, is it normal to be loose ??

ok well hard to explain, but i have noticed on my NO power steering civic's, that the steering in stand still is loose,

what i mean is if u go sit in car and turn the wheel left and right it has that littel bit of space before u move the wheels, u get it ? is it norml ?

do steering bushings make that happen ?

i just picked up a 95 cx hatch and it feels the same way, tomorrow I'm going to check the front end and see if there's anything worn out. i have no clue if the car came with power steering or not

yeah im starting to think its just wear and tear on the steering teeth on rack, just trying to varify
?

I have a 95 Cx with 255 000 km and the steering is tight as can be. However the same cannot be said for my 96 Cx (226 000 km) which feels like a sloppy ***.

yeah my buddies was loose on his talon

but got it fixed.. as long as your turning ok and it doesnt slip..lol that would not be so good

Alright checked mine out today, the rack is tight no play however i found a wheelbearing is BAD shape, also a upperball joint had alittle bit of slop Ps, it's a manual rack

yeah bal joint are #1 think in suspension to go out on hondas, but yeha im guess just waer and tear, 15 some year old and still this shape, ok just wondering as i have seen energy bushings have steering bushings so i was wondering if those are for thta?
