electric window and sunroof problem on gen4
has anyone had the problem when the windows suddenly stop working aswell as the sunroof i thought it might be a relay but i tried swapping the one that controls the blowers and that didnt change a thing. Also if anyone knows how to get the window up manually or by bypassing the switch or relays your advice would be invaluable as my window is stuck down at the moment.
Thanks in advance

I would say check your fuses under the hood. Its unusual for all the power windows and sun roof to fail at the same time.
To get the window up you will most likely have to take the door panel off and supply 12 volts directly to the motor. There are only two wires into the motor ground goes to one wire positive to the other. If the window doesn't go up reverse the wires and if the motor is Ok the window should go up.

i found that a 30amp fuse that runs the wipers had blown and that was causing the problem. however everytime i put a new fuse in it blows instantly so i tried to run a direct power to the motor to see if i could at least shut the windowbut that didnt work so i asume its a faulty motor that to blame. any surgestions as to what else it could be?

if the fuse blows with power off then the shorted wire is in between the battery terminal and the fuse. if it blows with power on then it's after the fuse up to any of the components that the power goes to.
the easiest way to find out where the short is located go to sears buy a multimeter (they have decent ones for $10-$30) disconnect the batt terminal and ohm out from the fuse socket to the block ground if you have continuity then you will know where to start looking for your short
