Default What about a diesel swap?

I came across a 1990 CRX HF. The timing belt had broken on it, which I was going to try to fix, but the more I talked to my buddies and the guys I work with, that engine is pretty much grenaded.
So now I'm thinking swap... What are the easiest swaps? (meaning ones that I don't have to get out the cutting torch for, since I live in an apartment complex and only have a carport to play under.) And has anybody seen anything done with the european 2.2L i-CTDi (diesel)? Oh, and for swaps, I need to roast my wife's '94 Saturn SC2 (1.9L DOHC) which weighs in at around 2500lbs, and 124bhp... Oh and I want to keep a manual tranny, preferably 5, maybe even 6 speed...

Forgo the engine altogether and just put a giant turbo under the hood.

Sounds like you need a simple swap.
Diesel will not be easy, just getting the fuel lines the right length would be a pain in the ****, you wont have much help/resources to help you. I havent seen any diesel swap but I heard one guy on here talk about one look here
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ghlight=diesel
and if you do plan on a diesel swap you WILL be limited to the trannys available to that motor, most likely a 5 speed.

Fuel lines the right length? It's a common rail injection system.

What about the H series? what's their advantage over a B, or is B the better pick?

h motors are supposed to have crappy trannies (solved with h2b, but that's a pain in the *** to do under a car port)

b18c with a b16 short geared tranny would be fun and not too involved compared to other stuff

6 Speed isn't going to happen unless you get a K20, if i were you i'd sell the engine off the saturn and just buy a DOHC ZC engine which requires no modification or engine mounts... they are also pretty common and cheap.
