Hey Guys I'm going to swap my engine out for a H23a4 vtech. And i have an h23a1 si engine and i just want to know do i need to swap my tranny out also with this swap. I have heard that i can just swap the engines and leave the tranny. But i want this done right and not to waste time and money. New to the whole life doing it myself work.

Edit: well, u sure picked a hell of a project to get started on. I hadn't picked up a wrench in 5 years and had issues with a simple timing belt, though there were mitigating factors. To answer your question. All H and F series tranny are interchangable. That doesn't always men they're a good fit for each other. But they will work

 

can I convert the d12b to efi?.. the conversion seems successful the problem is that the sensor/socket from engine temp is missing..
