i have a feeling this is a common issue
i got a short shifter and from where the shifter hangs lower than the stock shifter, it rubbed on my exhaust. so i went and got a small bend put in where the shifter is, and now the exhaust scraps on every bump in the road cuz its too low. what do i do??
I have done this: Where my short shifter hit on the exhaust I used a torch to heat up the pipe until it was glowing red, and then carefully tapped the pipe down so it made an indention a few inches wide, by a few inches long and maybe 3/4 of an inch deep. Just an idea...

i had this issue..i took off one of the rubber hanging mounts (the one nearest to the shifter) so the exhaust sits on more of an angle, been like that for a long time with no problems

OP: SS's tend to give you a more than normal notchy feeling anyway during shifts.
How many fractions of a second are you planning on saving by having a SS anyway. Unless you are a true race car driver, this mod is pretty pointless.
No he didn't...he put a bend in the pipe...I mentioned putting an indention in the pipe, which are two totally different things. Also...just a note: I have had many short shifters, even very high priced ones, and they really do not work very well IMO. The best upgrade is just to intall energy shifter bushings, and retain the factory shifter.
no it was an indention. sorry for the confusion. i dont know, i mean i can deal with it i guess. i just didnt know if this was fixable or not. but i love the feel of a short shifter. and no im not a race car driver or anything, but i just like the feel of it : )
