Hi I have a 99 accord v6 with about 90k on it. When you hit the gas it hesitates and then will take right off and it running kinda ruff. It gave a code about to much signal to the map or something. I had the exact code number from autozone but lost it. Does anybody know what the circled red guy is in these pictures are, I know its something with vacuum, but its making a really loud pshhh blow off valve sound when you hit the gas. or where I can find a scanned manual or something, Thanks.

 

That code would be really nice to have, I think that hat is an air filter but I do not know what the solenoid is for, someone will let you know soon.

See if there are any TSB's for your car / MAP. These parts are probably the most reliable on the whole car but they can still go bad. Other scan data would be nice to see also but you would probably have to pay a shop to hook a real scanner up to it to get the freeze frame data once the code has been set again.

The MAP is used to monitor different things on the engine but if one of those items went bad then a code should be set for the other item based on what the MAP saw.

 

Hmmm, yea I wish I still had the code maybe we can get it scanned again, its actually my friends car from Japan, how is it over there? I lived there for a while and miss it a lot. Anyway, that vaccum switch that I circled seemed like its acting kinda strange. I really want a manual for the car so I can figure out whats going on.

 

I am ready to leave now after 15 years, I will be going to Malaysia next month to check up on a University and if the US Government will pay for my school there then that is where I will move to soon enough. I have a GI Bill waiting to get spent.
