Default Title Issue

alright well, when i bought my ITR...robi (2nd owner) never registered it...so i crossed his name out, put mine

now im trying to find the 1st owner, his name is on the title and he has signed it, Michael L Ramey...

now i did a usa-people-search and found his *** but half the numbers ive tried havent picked up so i still might have a chance..

i been told if i find him , we go down to hapeville tag and title office and walk out with a new title in my name, then i can sign it over to the new owner

is there any other way of doing this ****? what happens if that motherfukker is dead?

i legally own the car, i have the bill of sale saying theres no liens or money owned on the car

Most likely you would have to get with the guy you purchased it from and fill out a lost title form. If he says he lost the title and thats why he didnt transfer it and then you just put the new title in your name instead of his that should work. contact your local licensing office and say you purchased the car from someone who lost the title and you need it transfered and they should be able to work it out for you.

Since the second owner never registered it you can only get a new title from the original owner. You might be able to go to the registry with the second owner and explain the situation but he'll have to pay the sales tax on his original purchase in order to transfer the title though.

Probably have to pay double tax. That's all most southern states care about on title issues.
