Default replacing del sol gauges

im swapping out the white face indiglow gauges in my car with the OEM black face gauge cluster. the white face gauges are superglued to the oem gauges. i bought a used gauge cluster on e-bay. the gauge cluster i bought has much higher mileage than my car. can i take the clear plastic front off the gauge cluster, manually turn back the mileage by hand and still have them work ok??

We did it on my brother's MR2. Carefully with toothpicks roll back the OD from 240,xxx, to 40,xxx. Worked fine afterwards.

I don't mean to sound all gung ho about it, but try it. Try it on the white gauge first.
