Default clutch slipping...has no resevoir cap on it!!

i bought an integra ls about a month ago, and the clutch felt fine at first, but now its slipping. i looked under the hood to check for leaks and theres no cap on the resevoir for the master cylinder. has been catching higher and higher for the past few weeks, now i can barely drive the thing. theres a small leak behind the mc, but barely anything. slave cylinder is good as well.

can that have anything to do with a clutch catching high up and not fully disengaging?
I know its just a cap but it might not have enough pressure i was told.

opinions please!!!

Try bleeding the clutch to see if it gets better. Should help even w/o a reservoir cap if the master and slave cylinders are good. I wouldn't drive around w/o a cap though.
IMHO, if the master cylinder is leaking, the best thing to do is replace it. There may be air and dirt in the lines so run a lot of fluid through it when bleeding it.

usually they will grab really fast and low and it'll be hard to shift with a bad MC..i just replaced mine and had another bad one on a previous integra they both did the same thing

a leaky clutch mc wouldn't make the clutch slip, just hard to get into gear or hard to get the clutch to disengage

I would replace the maste and bleed it which is a very tedious process. When u go to bleed it and the pedal sticks to the floor, just keep pulling it up and pumping it until it comesback on its own. That why my 95' has a cable transmission, you don,t have all that bullshit to worry about (master cylinder, slave cylinder, lines, etc), just a cable, plus you can adjust the cable for better action, hydro clutches tend to let out at the end of the pedal

it is hard to get into a few gears. i think the lines need bled and i need to order a new cap...then if its still bad ill go from there. i know its not the clutch itself.
something is causing the clutch tp stay partially engaged while driving. thats whagt i need to figure out

well heres what i troubleshooted. I bled the clutch and its still catching the same. I looked under my master cylinder and there seems to be a leak underneath it. theres also one inside the cabin where the adjuster does into the master cylinder. im going to replace the master and slave cylinders and see how it works.

anyone else got input?

If your clutch master cylinder is leaking...thats your problem. Did you check under your dash where it meets the firewall?

I think it might be Your Imput bearing if it wont disinage. If you are dropping the clutch alot of the line you need new bearings. How many miles you got in the Trans?

yea it has a small leak under the dash and a little more in the engine bay. after 3 weeks of driving the fluid went down to almost empty and the clutch is catching higher and higher up, to the point where its currently slipping...

like i said earlier a leaky mc or slave cylinder will not cause your clutch to slip. you pushing on the pedal disengages the clutch. the pressure plate is what reingages(spelling) it NOTHING ELSE. you can have no fluid in the system and your clutch will always be engaged.

well i just learned something else. my slave cylinder is not engaging the clutch completely, its partially disengaged. the rod in the slave cylinder only moves about 1in and it wont come completely out of the slave cylinder when i move it by hand. I think thats why its slipping, its not fully engaging the clutch
