you may have a short, does the battery drain if you don't turn on your car for a couple days??

I know that my dash lights used to dim in and out and I changed the dimmer switch and it fixed the problem.

Well he says the headlights and everything dim as well, which usually means drop in voltage throughout the vehicle. Its helpful if you have some sort of voltmeter so you can see where the voltage is dropping too, my escort 8500 x50 has this future which is quite nice.

I assume this happens with just normal headlights/night driving, I can get this if i have my stereo+rear defog+fans on high+headlights, just make sure your not pulling too much load, otherwise it would likely be the case your alternator is not putting out enough at idle...

Since you replaced what you have I'd check ELD, and as for grounds, the one Ive seen more commonly go bad/rusty is the short run from the chassis to the negative terminal, although its worth checking chassis to motor and chassis to tranny/starter.
