Problems with b16
I have a problem after installing that distributor. I put it in this morning, drove around and did a few things around town. Car had no problems, VTEC was fine and wasnt really pushing the car the hard. Went to Auto Zone and pick up a timing light and set the timing before I went out and did my things. I lined up the middle line of the 3 on the crank pulley with the mark on the block (is that were I want the timing at?) Looks like it's a red line thats in the middle.
Well I went home and went back out to meet up for lunch, while coming back home I got on it in 1st and around 6-7k felt like fuel cutoff or somthing, shifted into second and feels like it fell flat on it's face. Stop the car, got a haircut, went back into the car and was heading home. Now I was drving normal and it cutoff at 3500 rpms (like it did before the new distributor). Now I was heading to work here and decided to take her to redline and did the same thing as earlier, cutoff a little after VTEC engages (like it's misfiring real bad, wont go to redline) shift into second and no such response, just bogs but doesnt die. It's been fine if I dont take her pass 4-5k but when I try to get on it, it just doesnt want to go.
No CEL lights at all, no such visable leaks, the car seems like it's running a hell of alot hoter, fan kickin in a bit early when it was in my garage running.
Any ideas of what this could be? I dont want to keep driving it if I'm going to make it worse. Also idle is a bit "lumpy"... maybe a leak from the manifold gasket or something...
Someone has suggested a new fuel pump which I will be replacing here soon.
