Default Remote Starter for 97 Accord

I have a 97 Accord with an after market alarm that was installed by the dealer. I have moved to a cold climate, and I would like to add a remote starter.

1) What kind is recommended? I would like one with a good range for a low price.

2) How easy is it for someone to install a remote starter to an existing alarm as a DIY-project?

If someone could provide me with step-by-step instructions and a list of materials needed, that would be great.

1) low price and good range dont go together well

2) depends on your electrical knowledge as it will require wire modification and most likely an aux module of some sort for the add on

Most of the aftermaket alarms are manufactured by Directed Electronics
http://www.directed.com/
They offer these product lines:
Viper
Python and
Clifford
Alarm and remote starter systems

I believe they design these for either with / without remote starters AND they can be retro-fitted.

Ask your local installer

Look at the Security forum at the bottom, and read their FAQ, VERY detailed and go over the brands.
