Default Fuel Pump Question?

I have a 1990 Accord close to 170,000 miles and my fuel pump is about to take a sh** on me. I wanted to know how much a fuel pump goes for and should I go with OEM or aftermarket? Also, how hard is it to replace it in this car? Do I have to drop the gas tank or is it located right under the back seat panel like the newer Hondas? Or should I just take it to a mechanic? Thanks in Advanced.

Yes, on Accords, you have to drop the fuel tank.

I recommend a Walbro fuel pump as a reliable, powerful fuel pump. Good prices at http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com.

You only need the inline if you have an FMU. The FMU is a boost dependant fuel regulator that raises fuel pressure when boosting. Stock pumps cant keep up with the extra pressure so an inline is necessary.

I use a 4:1 fmu and a intank walbro 255l/h high pressure with no inline.

Heres some pump pics. I briefly cover the installation of the intank on my webpage. Same as the accords.

Your site does not have the link.
Its under installs. Better luck with your pump install than you had with navigating the site. Here's a shortcut just to make it easier.

These are some good writeups. May I use these on Accordingly Done? You'll get full credit, of course.

Yep, I'm making a performance site dedicated solely to Accords, you can look at the previw layout here: http://accordinglydone.myip.org/

the reason why i couldn't find it was because our proxy here @ work was not working right. Whenever I went to your page, no images or links would show up. Once I got home, your page loaded up fine. Thanks for the link anyways.
