Default SRS light question

I was looking at a 2001 gsr i might buy. it is a stolen recovery with a (i believe a 99) LS drivetrain and ecu in it.

the srs light is on when driving, and the owner says he doesnt know what is wrong with the srs system. is it possible that having an LS ecu hooked up could cause the light to turn on? would the airbags still work if that's the reason the light is on?

thanks

btw, the steering column is twisted in a clockwise direction, supposedly from when the car was stolen. maybe some wiring was damaged by this?

srs light should not be on and the system needs to be reset first to see if that works...and what you mean the column is twisted? post a picture...

there should be a yellow wire going into the fuse box that goes to nothing. You need to pull it out and jump the connector with a paper clip. There are a few steps that i don't have memorized but it will have something to do with the light flashing removing the jumper and then pluging it back in. Maybe someone else could post up or you could try to search here and team-integra. Anyways that will reset the srs light and if it comes back on you have a problem and will have to take it to someone who know what they are doing with the srs system. At least that's what i would do. Good luck.

yea had the same problem with my accord and i had to reset the light.

most of the time if you take it to your nearest Honda dealer they will do it for you they reset it for me at no charge it takes less then a minute, if it still goes on after reset then something is wrong with the SRS system then the dealer will charge you to diagnose the problem.

Have you checked the srs fuse?
When I installed my quick release I pulled my fuse to keep the air bag from deploying on me and the light came on.

Yup, still on to this day, but I am about to change out to an ITR cluster for the higher tach and will be removing the bulb when I swap the MPH gauge out to keep my mileage.

the plastic between tha steering wheel and the dash, with the ignition and the turn signal levers, is off center, it rotated in a clockwise direction like 30 degrees. apparently, the steering column was bent when the car was stolen, but im worried the car was crashed or something.

whats the quickest way to reset the srs, and u guys referring to the fuse panel under the dash or in the engine bay?

Pm me and i will tell you where to go to get the info on how to reset your srs light, would post it here but not sure if its against the rules BTW very easy and worked liked a charm that is if your spring clock isn't ff'ed up, simple test to find out if it if ffed up is:does your horn work? if not then your clock spring is toast how about your cruise control? if it doen't work then your spring clock is toast either of them not working is a good indicator that its toast.
