Default D15Z1 VX engine burning oil. Need to buy another engine.....

My D15Z1 VX engine is burning about a quart per tank, and I need to buy another one. Anyone know where I can find one that is US spec, and not an outrageous price?

I was hoping that someone who swapped theirs out would sell me it, but no luck so far after a month of posting in the classifieds WTB.

thanks

Trying to stick with a USDM just for emissions?

I think the US gets better mileage than JDM version.

Why not just rebuild it? Maybe it's something simple like valve stem seals? Not like taking the head off it and replacing them would be that bad.

well Ive replaced the head twice now due to poor valve seat sealing. lapped valves and that worked fine. But I cant afford downtime either now and I want to completely rebuild one and swap it in a day.

thanks though.

I hear ya.

I myself would call around the area to the junkyards and see if you can find one. Usually most of them will come with some sort of warranty. If you want a replacement D-series motors they can usually be had for a very reasonable price.
