hard to say, he's trying to shift gears too fast and hard to really tell. Do another video and go into the gears with less "vigor".

those are the only 2 he posted, but you will hear it clearly once he lets off the gas after boost.

what is the setup on the vehicle? it almost sounds like bov flutter, because you can still hear the turbo spooled for a short time after he lets off. i run a tial wg and bov with bb turbo and can produce that flutter under turbo spool up/under wg pressure setting and throttle release but not under full boost 7.5lbs wg spring pressure opened. how much boost is the wg spring set for, how much boost is he trying to run, what does the boost gauge read when the flutter is most noticed, is the correct spring in the bov for the vehicle's vacuum range?

The best way to get it to surge is to make *some* boost (run below spring pressure, partial throttle is KEY), then let off somewhat slowly. You will hear the "chh-chh-chh" which is usually surge, then your blowoff valve. The deal is you are making more boost in the piping, but not enough is flowing past the TB or the BOV to prevent surge. There's enough boost in the BOV's vac line (and spring pressure) to keep the BOV closed; this is why Tial says to run the weakest spring you can in their BOV.

I have a Greddy Type-S on my car ATM, and I've tried the spring at various preloads. On the high setting, doing the above will get me momentary surging followed by the usual whistle. The low setting does it far less. I run it rather soft because the spring setting doesn't change the point where it starts to leaks boost.

Most people have the Tial BOV working right say its mostly just a loud "whoosh" of air, unless you are running a LOT of air through it like a Supra with a big snail.

if the bov is soft...then it sounds like surge.

My old setup used to sound EXACTLY like that, I used to think it was just my eBay wastegate. Sounds like compressor surge though
