Default HONDA NEWB....CRX FI QUESTIONS...

hi im about to purchase a 1988 crx, ive searched and found dozens of diif setups.... and would like to know whats is the most cost efficent and reliable way to get 300whp out of it....im not sure what engine and turbo setup to pick for a balance of economical and reliablity....any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I would suggest a B16 turbo. It's been done hundreds of times with somewhat very basic combinations. The key will be in the tuner and that persons tuning abilities.

I agree with the B16A swap. Very reliable and quite commonplace for the CRX users, and with the right combination of turbo parts and great tuning you should have no problem reaching your target, just be sure the motor and tranny are in good health.

bump....any idea what model turbo i need so that boost doesnt fade at hgh rpms but spools by 4000 rpms.....??

there are a lot of turbos tht will do that to narrow it down what kind of price range are we talking about and ill tell you my opinion of what would work well for you

but i want the turbo to last like at least 30k b4 a rebuild

i was thinkin turbonetics t3t4 turbo but i think i lose power steering with that one so thats a no.... so im not sure which one to get?

keeping PS and AC is going to have more to do with the manifold than the turbo
don't get a turbonetics turbo

id get a t3t4 50 or 57 trim with a .63 hotside either by garrett or borg warner both of those would be good to over 400whp when really pushed and should make about 270-290 at 10-12 psi .............these are rough estimates but those turbos are what i would look into buying

t-netics don't have the best reputation for reliability

even if the turbo itself had anything to do with it being p/s compatible, CRX's dont have powersteering anyways.
