ok my vtec hits now so late.before it hitting like 4800-5200 now it hits 5600-6000.i check d vtec solenoid and it was leaking oil.(o-ring prob).should it be the cause?

 

you need a certain amount of oil pressure for VTEC to engage, and if its leaking, chances are youre losing some of that pressure, so im assuming it most likely could... someone correct me if im wrong.

either way, REPLACE IT whether it fixes your problem or not.

 

see if your low on oil first. if there is no oil on the dip stick then that is most likely why. is so add oil then see if VTEC came back to normal

 

yeah vtec is touchy...if you are low on oil or have some certain cel's then it wont kick in. i would simply check your oil first.

 

thanx guys.well my oil is over by a half a quart.(checked the dipstick).but the bottom part of my vtec solenoid is really wet w/ oil.i guess i need to change the o ring tomorrow.if the dealer has it.lol.again thnx to u guyz...
