STILL GOT IDLE SURGE ISSUES......I NEED TIPS PLEASE!!
I GOTTA B16A W/JDM CTR PISTONS, BUDDY CLUB CAMS, JUST INSTALLED BLOX INTAKE MANIFOLD W/ A FUEL RAIL FPR AND A FUEL FILTER ALL BY BDL. NOW IV'E HAD IDLING ISSUES SINCE THA SWAP. IVE TRIED A NEW IACV, I HAVE NO FIV CUZ THA BLOX INTAKE MAN. NO VACUUM LEAKS. NO AIR IN COOLANT SYSTEM. TPS IS SET AT .5 CLOSED THROTTLE. THA HEAD IS ALSO HAD 3 ANGLE VALVE JOB , AND DUAL BLOX SPRINGS FROM IMPORT AUTO PROS BY DAVID (AKA TIMEBOMB). I DESPRATELY NEED SOME GOOD POINTERS HERE. THA IDLE FLUCTUATES ABOUT EVERY SECOND AND HALF ABOUT 600RPMS, WHEN WARM AND WHEN COLD. PROBLEM IS KINDA INTERMITTENT, I SAY THAT WITH IDLE FLUCTUATING MORE OFTEN THEN NOT.....PLEASE HELP A HOMIE OUT!!!! THANX!!!

I experience this kind of problem b4 w/my friend's EG. It flutuates...it seems he has a WILD CAM in his engine, but, he doesn't! I tried everything to make the idle stable, so, I looked at all his wiring(no shorts/open), sensors...then what I saw behind his I.M., his small coolant hose was pinched connected to the AIV and TB.
thanx man....checked and had coolant hoses replaced, and i do got a buddy clud III cams n str gears....n e one else cuz i really gotta fix this, can it be ecu related? i got obd0 to obd1 conversion.....n she seems to be running rich!!
IM PRETTY SURE, I GOT THA FPR TO THE FRONT VAC LINE, MAP IS ON THROTTLE BODY AND EGR IS ON BACK OF MAN.......DO U GOTTA SHCEMATIC I CAN LOOK AT ???? ILL DOUBLE CHECK IT THANX EGEZZY!!
try taking off the throttle body and spraying throttle bodie cleaner in it, I just had a low idle and i just sprayed it out not much black came out but it idles like new now and i sprayed some on the throttle cable were it meets the throttle body.
Hey, on your Buddy Club cams, did you purchased it new and somewhere on the paper, stating that when you installed this cam, your engine will have a loopy idle...or was it already there from the getgo? OBTW, is the engine tuned already?

tha motor alway idled that way since i installed it, ive also set tha tps to .5 closed throttle and everytime i bring tha idle down to bout 1100 and lower with tha ilde screw, it starts to fluctuate.......i have went over with my technicians, i work at a midas shop in whittier, and we are starting to belive it may be ecu related or and o2 sensor and or spark plugs that are visibly black and a bit damp (not oil) . ...............theory; incomplete combustion=rich reading, and or o2 burned (used one), (i have another used one to use), causing ecu to get "loopy"????? im soooooooo ppppp ooooooed!!!
Hey, just a thought, you have an xtra ecu? Try switching that, if doesn't work, it might be your TB w/ the idle screw(I know you cleaned it and everything). Coz, last year I had almost the same problem, I did every thing I can, so, I started eliminating the problem 1 @ a time. I ended up w/ 2 parts as my problem(ecu and TB), switched it, and my idle runs fine now!

do you have a lightweight flywheel and crank pulley?
for me..i had a fidanza 7lb and a ctr puley and it wouldnt idle below 1100 because it didnt have enough inertia to keep turning it over that low of a speed..it wanted just turn up really fast

I THINK IM BE GETTIN THAT TUNE SOON HOMIE, SHEZ BACK IN ACTION BUT I GOT THAT IDLE SURGE STILL. I REALLY NEED THIS FIXED, ITS THE EFFING ROCKS IN MY SHOEZ!!! SO I CHANGED THE PLUGS OUT CUZ THEY WERE STILL THE NGK V-POWER SO I GOT THE NGK IRIDIUM IX. THEY SEEM TO BURN A LOT BETTER BUT ITS STILL RICH AS BILL GATES. TIPS??????????? N E 1 PLEASE!!
