Is it worth the change of header...
I have a 93' Honda Accord 4th gen, I keep hearing people say that they header in that model doesnt really have to be changed, and if you do, you really dont notice any performance upgrade. I was thnking of a DC 4-2-1 or soemthing like that(its late excuse me if anyting i say is wrong) Do you guys think I would notice any performance improvemnt, also, i know they have cermaic headers and other materials, which is better? Pros, Cons?
Thanks guys

ceramic sucks, it starts crackiing after a while. if you're getting DC sports get the Stainless Steel, or if you're going with Kamikaze get the nickel plated header.
i heard lots of good things about the kamikaze header.

Notice a performance improvement? No, I don't think you will. It is good for 3-4hp I would guess, and that is certainly not worth the money IMO.

the gain will be in the secondry pipes, the standard honda ones are twin skinned so the oil sump doesnt get heated from the pipes, even though the pipe looks quite big the inside pipe is really small.
i had my secondry pipes remade 2 1/4" pipe and make where they join to 1 pipe 200mm longer(so the 2 pipes are 200mm longer than std before it goes to 1 pipe)
this is the equavalent to 4-1 and will garentee a performance gain(a guy over here that makes honda race cars told me this trick)

I have encountered no problems with ceramic headers.
A header will give a slight performance increase ,looks better, and improves the sound but works best with a full catback exhaust.
Then there is the issue with alot more heat in the engine compartment so if you just have a short ram intake ,when it gets hot under there ,your car will feel sluggish. If you have a CAI (and you should) then it is not an issue.

I have seen dynos of Accords with headers, and they gained 5-6hp towards the bottom end/mid range. And there is one thing that needs to be done on almost all Accords from the factory, cam gear adjustment. Apparently, the new header causes a change in the ideal cam timing, so (I can't remember to advance or retard) but about 2 degrees of change causes a LOT of power to be made.
most likely retard your timing 2 degrees, when you retard the timing you will gain more low end torque, advance timing is for more high rpm power. theres always a tradeoff.

CC coating blows unless you live where it doesn't snow. They will crack in about 2 years.
On a Lx/dx is definetly worth the money for a header. For an Ex it may not make as much power, but if your going all out you should get it. It does pull harder after 5K rpm.
