vented hoods.
I've been having a hell of a time with my nitrous solenoid over heating and causing the plunger to deform, block half of my nitrous flow, and turn my baby into a dog. I've relocated the solenoid out of the engine bay to under the rain tray, I've filled up on coolant, and I've ripped the weather stripping off of the bottom of the rain tray to let out the trapped heat. Although this helped lot, I am still damaging my plungers after a few runs. At the track I can keep ice on them, but that isn't practical for everydy driving and racing.
My question is what type of vented hood would be the most effective at reducing underhood temperatures? I've see turbo vented hoods, louvered hoods, and ram air looking hoods. I'm assuming that the turbo vented ones would be most beneficial, but was hoping that someone could confirm or challenge his idea.

from what i learned from my cousins, theyve put spacers on the hinges for the hood...it looks baaad *** and at the same time, it looks ddooooope
... but the thing is, is that its a team secret...what u can do, is make a ram air from your bumper..just buy a dryer aluminum hose from home depot for 5$ and take off the (black)stock intake piping and shove the aluminum piping from there, redirecting the cold air into your engine bay...i did that also..after i got my cf hood, i took the spacers off, and now i just rely on my ram air to keep my engine bay cool...i hope something works out for you man..good luck....have a broosky

I'm not quite catching how a ram air intke is keeping your underhood temps down. I'm running some of the coldest intake temps that you can get and my engine bay is still hot as hell.

People do the same thing to cool their brakes too, just run a duct from the front of the car to where you want the cool air to flow...
