Code 15
Hey guys I got a 90 CRX SI throwing cel code 15 ignition output signal. Just replaced the distributor with new coil, ignitar, cap and rotar and still no spark. Had problems with main relay but got that fixed new fuel pump and fuel filter and I have had no luck with getting this thing started. Also checked to see if I was even getting power to the dizzy and all checks out ok. Anybody know what I should do next? Iam at a loss
tell us a little more about it - is this a stock engine that was running o.k. but developed a code 15 and quit running or is this a swap of some kind that you can't get started?
Stock D16A6, it ran for a little while then the distributor that came on the car when I bought it went out in a bad way. I was driving the car and it started grinding and losing power and died , got it to run for a little bit but would not rev past 3k got it home and pulled off the distributor cap and the ignitar looked like it had been blowen in half and the cog that spins inside had broken off like 6 teeth, I mean this thing was wasted. I thought I might have jumped a tooth on the timing belt but at TDC everything lines up
Is your new igniter OEM? Even new ones can easily be fried. Read more at http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq....html
Is your new coil OEM? It too can easily be fried.
My first suspect would be the igniter. Test it using http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq....html
Test the coil using http://media.honda.co.uk/car/o...8.pdf
You can do a yahoo search for {"code 15" "ignition output signal" site:honda-tech.com} and get more input. The igniter comes up a lot as the problem.

I Know that it has been a while sience I posted this but got it figured out and thought I would put the info up for anybody else who might have this prob in the future.
Turns out that I had a "lazy" igniter. When you would put an ohm meter on this thing it would test good but still no spark. Quick change back to OE and it fired right up. Thanx for the help guys!
