usdm f23 5th gear into T2W4
I've heard of the F series 5th gears being swapped in, but I believe the gear is thicker than the H series, and requires machining to make it work.
I am running in my 4th gen Accord type-R U2Q7 tranny with H23 M2K4 5th gear (0.757) and it is great. The H23 5th gear is 5mm wider and it has to be machined from both sides a few mils. I dont remember exactly how much from which side (machning is mot symetrical) but you will see it clearly when you pull it out of the gearbox and measure it.
I made this mod also for 5th gen M2P4 and it had to be also machined 5mils...

it is not the teeth to be cutted, just the hub of the gear on the countershaft is wider than you need. The gear on the mainshaft is the same width and can be assembled unchanged.

While I am not familiar with the gearbox/gears that PreludeZ is talking about he's basically stating the same things I found out about the M2S4 .812 5th gear that I wanted to put into an M2F4.
I think the best you can do is to pull both 5th gears sets out of their respective cases and see what needs to be changed, then send them to a machine shop with a surface grinder.
In my case I'll just be swapping to an M2B4 I picked up for $95 locally. Yay .787 5th but with the 1-4th of the M2F4.

I made it simply on turning machine
M2K4 is EDM H23A2 tranny and is slightly different from USDM M2S4:
M2K4 - 3.307 - 1.809 - 1.269 - 0.966 - 0.757 - 4.266 - P4G EDM H23A2
M2S4 - 3.307 - 1.857 - 1.320 - 1.034 - 0.812 - 4.266 - P4G USDM H23A1
I have collected all tranny ratios here: http://forum.honda-club.cz/viewtopic.php?t=5959

The last guy that tried to turn down a 5th gear on a lathe had issues and resorted to a surface grinder to get the proper thickness. I don't know if he tried to use HSS or carbide tooling though. Carbide will cut some hard stuff.
I used universal centre lathe (cca 1500kg baby) and of course tool with carbide plate without any problems
HSS is not good enough for material of this type class and hardening

Any assistance greatly appreciated
New to the forum, successfully worked the fifth gen lude gearbox M2Z4 into the 4th gen prelude. And yes the both VSS are different. However the VSS from the 5th gen plugged in quite easily and works well, I have not removed my old Speed sensor as yet, it is just secured to the back of the engine as it still has the PS lines going to it.
I am thinking that I could just probably join those two lines but not sure. anybody has any suggestions?

My T2W4 came with a different one and I just used the one from my M2S4, you pretty much stick with whatever came with the car.
