hi

im currently working on a 96 f22b1 ex. i got a p0108 code and the sensor was replaced before. checked voltage and drop everythign is reading high. so i replaced the sensor and it was still reading high and car was dieing on me. i just did a tune up on the car and it still dies on me. i checked all vaccum lines and ive found one that had a slight rip on it...do you think that small rip on one of the vaccum lines would be the cause of the vaccum leak causing the car to die out?

 

If that hose fed vacume to the map sensor, then yes; it could affect it.
A lower than anticipated vacume signal would cause a high(er) voltage to the ecm.

ok thanks alot....well i am planning on cleaning the throttle body too....cuz this car is only at 100k and it hasnt had any kind of tune up for the past three years.....plugs were fouled out and the cap and rotor were worn out(the contact ends). so thanks for the quick reply.

any other suggestions if anyone elsre has any ideas of what vaccum lines i would have to check......

 

Honda's are usually pretty good about their vacuum hoses, vacuum manifolds and the routing of same. Generally, they last almost forever; unless someone starts runting thru the engine compartment for something like (say) an H22 swap or something.
I've often used a length of 3/4" heater hose as a stethoscope to locate vacuum leaks
I would think a cursory inspection and a few minutes with the heater hose would spot any suspect hoses.
You're going to need a ready explanation for your friends if/when they catch you doing what looks like siphoning gas with your ear....

Unplug the MAP sensor and let us know what the voltage readings are at the three wires on the connector with it unplugged and power on the car please.
