2 problems (oil pump and trans.) with engine swap. PLEASE HELP!!!
im putting an obd1 jdm engine and transmission into an obd2 accord. i have run into two problems while doing so.
the new obd1 transmission has an electrical component on the end of it that the old obd2 transmission does not have. this component has a connector that the original harness can not hook into. the component and connector look like this:

and this is the old transmission:

first off what the hell is that thing? second is there any way i can use this with the original obd2 harness or possibly bypass it? or am i just screwed and have to reuse the old high mileage transmission?
so my second question. i was told to switch oil pumps because of the location of the crank sensor, obd1 being in the dizzy and obd2 being on the crank. so i took off the old oil pump just to be safe. but can i just bolt up the ckp sensor to the oil pump on the new obd1 engine? since these parts are mass produced do the obd1 pumps have holes and threads for the crank sensor? i havent pulled the timing belt cover yet cuz i ran out of time. so i will know for sure tomorrow but does anyone know if this is possible? i really dont want to put an oil pump with 170k on an engine with 50k. heres a pic for reference:

sorry the first pic is so huge, i dont know why it is they were all taken from my phone. i'll see if i can resize it
so i found out that its called the Automatic Transmission Gear Position Switch. does an obd2 f22 have one of these? can it be eliminated? the plate on the end of the transmission, can it be swapped out with the one off the old transmission to eliminate this piece?
