i searched and couldn't find...would a 99-00 ctr REAR lip fit onto a 96-00 rear bumper??

 

yes...96-00 rear bumpers are all the same. it will fit. the only difference between 96-98 civics and 99-00 civics exterior is the front end. everything from the fenders back interchange.

Actually, the 96-98 and 99-00 slightly differ. Bumpers are interchangeable on any civic from 96-00, but the 96-98 lip will only fit a 96-98 bumper, and a 99-00 lip will only fit a 99-00 bumper.

 

would you like to explain why?? if the bumpers interchange...shouldnt the lips interchange too?

 

No, because the design is slightly different. You can tell if you compare the bottoms of the two.

 

ok...OP i stand corrected. now just buy a 99-00 bumper with the lip. but im sure if your on a budget...you could make this work. you can make anything work if you have the willpower and time. it cant be too hard...good luck.

The ctr rear lip will fit any 96 - 00 civic hatchback.

 

'96-'00 hatches all have the same rear bumper.

'96-'98 coupes and sedans have the same rear bumper.

'99-'00 coupes and sedans have the same rear bumper.

The '96-'98 coupe and sedans have a rear bumper that just curls under the car twice at the bottom. This is evident in photos.

The '99-'00 coupes and sedans have a "lip" at the bottom of the bumper that juts out. It's evident in photos.

Oh, and EJ6s are coupes, hatches and sedans, which might have caused a little bit of confusion. Just say hatch next time.

 

This guy is talking about a hatch. ALL 96-00 hatch rear bumpers are the same (discounting the 96-98 bumpers with mouldings).

i meant from doors back...my bad. i know the fenders are different.
