Default ITR NOS owners Help! Zex kit "Dry or Wet"

I have access to a full zex kit from a friend. He had it on his GSR and is going to let me use it. Its a Dry setup that is a adjustable from I think 40-60 shot. I currently have I/H/E and cam gears. Should I do it?

If you're going to shoot nitrous make sure that you do take following steps as precautions:

1. Invest in a quality wet system from NOS or NX.
(ZEX & Venom = BANDWAGON RICE that burns valves and melts pistons)

2. Have a seasoned nitrous instaler do your set up and make sure all necessary adjustments in regards to timing and fuel supply are done as well.

3. for a stock ITR do not go past a 75 shot wet. If you do, it's asking for trouble.

4. If you're really serious about juice, invest in NOS's "nitrous mastermind" which will allow you to control when the nitrous is activated and de-activated in the RPM range. (i.e. for example you can make the nitrous come in right before vtec 5800 rpm and shut off at 8000 rpms to save your motor from unecessary abuse and/or bouncing off teh rev limiter which can also = KABOOM!)

I am not trying to jump on the F&F bandwagon but I like the car like it is for now but I think that if its done right "keyword" RIGHT that it should work fine. It also has the NOS blow off valve and guage. I also have a FPR and would be getting the NOS mastermind before even beginning the install. I know alot of people don't like Nitrous and everyone has a story about someone who blew their motor, or burnt up a piston because of it but if all the safeguards are in place to make this system run safely, why not?

If you know what you're doing, go for it.

If you know what you're doing, why are you asking us?

That's the only reason I said you shouldn't install it. Most people who know what they're doing don't need to ask if they should install parts or not.

NOT A FLAME, I'm just saying...

I have the zex dry kit and i hvent had one problem with it...granted ive had it for about 7 months now ad ive gone through liek 4 bottles...meaning i never ever use it...i stay with the constant 55 shot, at the track i put the 75 for ***** and giggles and got a best of 13.78...im proud of the nitrous and the ITR...although i think im taking it out soon and trying to go all motor...higher compression, cams perhaps..who knows..i do know ita how the ITR was meant to be.. hope this helped...latz..and i do recommend the zex kit...easy to install and lots of fun...

Finally, someone who understands that nitrous is not always cheap! Wet setups (like my direct port), are NOT cheap to install, however, a single fogger wet will be easier to install.

If you plan on racing on the street (which many here despise), N20 is great... instant power/tq. I got nitrous b/c i like the R as is for now.. for turns...... need to perfect its stock form, and go to driving school..

But for the occational drag, nitrous is perfect.

I'm one of the few that think a dry system is better unless you'e going to go all out and do a direct port (In which case wet is THE way to go).

If you're injecting fuel into the airstream beofre the throttle body it's not going to be as atomized as if you put it in at the intake ports. You wind up with puddling in the manifold and that can cause one or more cylinders to go lean because the fuel mix isn't dividing evenly between them. The only way to fix it is to add more fuel and run rich, that robs power.

I'm interested in those new drect port fuel injector adapters from NOS. They fit between your fuel injectors and the manifold and inject the nitrous there. Direct port without having to replace/modify the manifold.

bottle fillups are not cheap. I think I ended up spending 10 bottles x 30.00 per fill up - 300.00 just on Nitrous Gas

i had the zex dry kit on my itr. It is adjustable from 45-75. If your going to do it set it at 45, get the proper fuel setting with a fpr, proper ignition, and dont abuse it, have fun. but dont use the zex spark plugs. oh yeah i forgot to mention the zex kit melted my pistons and sent a conecting rod threw my block.
