temp went up and down again
i went yesterday to do my emmisions. wen it was rolling on the dyno, i was looking at the temp gauge while the guy was driving it, and i think it was 5 or 3rd gear, the car was at 2000 rpm, and i saw the temp needle creep up. i didn't say anything to the guy cause, i didn't want him to cut out early, there was only like 1 min left of testing, but the part that got me was that it went all the way up to H, and soon as he let off the gas, it went down. i thought i cleared all my overheating issues, but now im starting to wonder. i drove it yesterday for a good hour, and in 5th gear cruising, i was a 2000 rpm almost the entire duration. and it didn't overheat on me.
at the emmisions place, he placed the fan in front of my car, and the rad. did not kick on because it is on a switch, and i did not tell him bout it.

Can't having the thermostat removed actually cause the car to overheat or at least cause the radiator to not cool very efficiently? I thought this was because it allowed the coolant to constantly circulate too quickly through the system never allowing it to be cooled by the air passing over the radiator. That and the fact that you did not have your fan on while sitting on a dyno can be considered factors.
yea i pretty much figured that. is jus that since the fan was pointed directly at my car, i thought it wud cool. but yea, i see where it prolly wasn't sufficient cooling?

I would throw a thermostat in there if you want it to run cooler I would run a J's racing thermostat they arent that expensive and the run 68 degrees celcius and honda's run 78 degrees. The lower temp will kill your heater output though.
