LS/VTEC Engine harness question.
Did some searching but hard to find specifics for the swap.
Ok so heres the swap
91 b16a Head
94 B18b Block
Injectors are obd1
going into a 92 civic CX
I have an engine harness out of a 94 Civic EX w/vtec and a harness from a 92 civic CX w/o vtec. Is i possible to use either of these harnesses on the swap without having to do anything major? not worried about resistor box or anything. just the harness itself for the engine.
i know i will need to run wires for the o2 but will i need to do anything else?

i believe 92 civic harnesses are prewired for vtec (on the car half of the harness) so.....
i would use the ex engine harness > witch plug into the cx chassis harness.
the ex engine harness will not need modification with a chipped ecu (to eliminate the knock sensor)
if you dont use a chipped ecu then a knock sensor must be wired, witch is only one wire

oh didnt notice that.
-get a 93-95 del sol vtec distributor.
-use the ex engine harness> plugged into the cx harness,
-with a chipped ecu (eliminating the need for a knock sensor)
-jump the vtec pressure switch wire to the vtec solenoid
and you might need to do something about O2 sensor wiring

Awesome guys thanks. Yea i got a obd1 b series vtec distributor. its a td-44u, knew i would need that.
Not real sure what you mean by "Jump the vtec pressure switch to the vtec solinoid sensor."

JDM OBD2 B-series engines don't have a vtec pressure switch, if you use a USDM ECU it looks for the pressure switch and vtec wont engage. connecting the vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch wires together fixes the issue, but you don't have an OBD2 JDM B-series solenoid so it wont even be an issue for you anyway.
