hesitation/ bogging/ burning oil after head swap! (searched)
its a d16y8. my car burnt a lot of oil, so i decided to do a headswap, and replace valve stem seals on the new head. so we swapped the new head, all new gaskets, new valve stem seals, and now it hesitates and bogs under light acceleration. timing is dead on.
new spark plugs and wires....
all we did was a head swap, and now it seems to burn even more oil, and hesitates on acceleration.
when it "hesitates" i notice it burning more oil, almost as if there is a sudden surge of oil being burnt. when i pulled the spark plugs, a couple of them are wet with oil. on the tips and on the threads.
where could it be leaking from? did we forget to seal something??
i havent done a leakdown test yet, but i guess im confused as to why it got worse after a headswap with the new valve stem seals.

My guess is that something was installed incorrectly. If the tips of the plugs are wet with oil you have a MAJOR oil leak. Generally if just the lower tube seals or upper tube seals are leaking you'll have oil on the threads, but oil on the tips indicates you've got a lot of oil inside the cylinder. You sure everything got put together correctly?
i don't know what we could have missed to be perfectly honest.
the headgasket appears to be installed correctly... im not losing any coolant, nor is any oil mixing with any coolant.

i am suspecting rings...
