Loosing oil
Ok here is the deal. I am burning oil. I am not sure on Decel or Accel. I am thinking on Decel. But I have been told it is on Accel also. anyway. I am loosing oil.
Now here is what the run down is. I bought the car and it had no o2's hooked up. So I put new o2's in and wired them up. I am still burning oil a little. I changed the oil and the same thing. check the plugs and I have no oil on them they are clean plugs very clean plugs so the can is sparking correct and not fowling with Oil. When I pull my pvc valve out it doesnt rattle. you cant hear the vavle open and it looks plugged of oil.
So here is the question. could the problem be my PVC valve? if not what else could it be?
This is killing me.
Drove me to

Re: (ejprimo)
I think I found out what it was. Today on the freeway was stop and go. after the stop and go we could move about the freeway. anyway As I was pulling away a big ball of smoke. maybe black, Blue mix came out the rear. then driving home I stoped and took off. I could have swore there was a nice gray/Blue cloud behind me. So this would mean rings.
Anyone know how hard it is to accomplish this task?
I got quotes of 1500 for the whole job. But I dont have that cash. I dont know how I would get it.

Re: (B16b2b)
So just take it easy? I thought it was bad to drive on a motor burning oil? I still need to do the compression check. It might be a bad valve maybe? Maybe I will just buy a B18 block and put new pistons in it and then drop my block out aand mount it to my head and bottom end. This sucks.

how many miles are on the motor?
all i meant was the harder you drive the car, the higher you rev consistently, you're gonna get some blow-by, and burn some oil...

Burning a little oil will never kill ya inless ya don't refill the oil. When ya run your car hard you will burn oil, and if it is excessive amounts it could very well be needing a new set of rings. You could have good compression along with good #'s on a leak down test, but it will smoke like hell. I wasn't that much for rings, rod bearings, and all the gasket to put it back together.($600) That was including doing all the work myself

Re: (obsessed247)
the motor has like 40k max on it. I do drive it preety hard. Thats why I was thinking it was my pvc system not catching the blow by. Is because that s all plugged up.I am going to replace that for sure. But I dont think the PVC would cause it to burn.

Would the PVC cause the motor to burn oil?
Is there somethign else it could possibly be?

i dont think so, but replace it anyways, it's like a couple bucks.
you can also run a bit thicker oil, less oil burn, more compression.....but lower gas mileage though
