Default 95 del sol/ 92 civic vx interchangeablity

I have brought a 95 del sol for parts it was an automatic that had been converted to a manual. My daily driver is a 92 civic VX 5 speed. Everything I have ever heard about the 92's is that they are wired for everything and all you have do is plug in the harnesses and your all set. I understand that I have to buy all the switches and door panels out of an EX but really not worried about that at this point.

The real purpose of this thread to ask all of you how truly our HONDA's are interchangeable!!! Of course the motor, trans and rear suspension will make their way into my hatch!!!!!!! But, I want to install the PM, PW, AC, PS, tilt steering wheel and of course the CRUISE CONTROL because I drive almost 200 miles a day to and from work.

I have and am still using the search opition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the del Sol is an EG, EJ chassis style just like the 92-95 Civic BUT the wire harnesses are different cause the Del Sols have very different under dashes compared to civics. im not familar with the trim levels of the hatchbacks so im not sure where a VX fits in if its more like a coupe DX or a EX but if you want all that power stuff what you really need to do is grab the wire harness from a CIVIC EX rather than any sort of Del Sol. if a VX is anything like a DX (which it seems to be) i know you need more fuses and relays to add the EX options onto your car.

The door panels...does the Del Sol have power mirrors and locks? if it DOES than you should be able to put it on your Civic assuming you already know you'll have to either buy the proper door panels or modify your Civic door panels to situate the switches and sh*t. thats also assuming the wire harness is long enough to reach all the connectors cause Del Sol doors are somewhere around a foot shorter than a civic coupe door.

oh yeah and if you don't have power windows you def want to check and see if that Del Sol windo regulator will bolt up right on your door cause if not thats more money you gotta spend. Del Sol is a bad parts car unless you own another del sol or bought it with a good motor and tranny.

its a del sol Si and if im right its just like every other Si power everything except locks which is fine with me I can add oem later or aftermarket if i do it all.

it has a good motor and trans. i figured i was gonna have to all the switches, door panels the dash harness after i pulled the dash apart.

that sounds about right but what im saying is even if the Del Sol wire harnesses mach up with your doors, you'll need different window tracks cause delsols have extremely different windows. plus you will need the underdash harness and fuse block from a civic si or ex cause a Del Sol SI is still wired differently than a Civic SI.

if i remember right my fuse box in the VX has all the places for those fuses wired i just need to get the correct under dash harness because as far as i can tell the VX under dash harness DOES NOT have the extra plugs. havin said that when sittin the 2 fuse boxs side by side they look the same front and back. and alot of those "fuses" that are empty have power runnin to them. which why im so confused!!!!!!!!!!!!

seems like you may have possibly gotten lucky. my DX didn't have jack **** before i converted it to EX. my wires were cut up and ghetto taped and whatnot BUT what you could do is look for a block off where a EX/SI door wire harness would plug into, then check to see where the fuses would go and plug in your Del Sol door harness and check if it would work.

it would be easiest to check the driver door since the fuse block is right there next to it. if you don't have any sort of block off or anything like that chances are you'd need a new harness.

i started out with a Civic Coupe DX auto tranny + the original harness had been all hacked up so there was no doupt i swapped the harness for an EX 5spd harness and it all works perfectly.

dats why i have been asking if there was any1 that knew for sure. because i had always heard that 92 civics from canada were wired for everything and all you had to was a simple plug and play but no1 has been able to confirm this to be true and for some reason I just cant believe that im the only one ever to try or want to do this. i just dont think that im that orignal and or different when it comes to the honda game
