need help on d16z6.
okay, just swap back the single cam d16z6 in my car, did water pump and timing belt, the timing belt was more to the valvecover side, i use the dx ecu to start my car and i was cranking for a while, the car didn't start. i took a look at the timing belt and notice it was moving toward the mount side, i tried cranking it again and it now started but it seems like it's choking. i shut it off, and tried cranking it again, it would crank for about 2-3 seconds than it'll start, but when it starts, it stays at 1000 rpm and it kinda chokes, i did not put the cat on yet but i don't think the cat will affect it, anyone have any idea. is it that the timing is off or the timing belt is too tight.
does the timing belt have any slack...like is it a little or alot? tug on it and see how easy it is to move. what about the tensioner?? did you make sure everything is put back together 100% the way its supposed to be?
firing order is correct, i'm thinking it's timing. redid timing and it idles at 1500 rpm now, a lil better but still having problem starting, i think it's about 1-3 tooth off, so gonna have to recheck it again.
