Default engine doesnt start like it should be...

in the morning when i go to start up my car, it doesnt start up fast.
it kinda lags it for about 3 seconds before it starts up.
can it be the starter? or what?

by the way i have a 96 civic EX.

does the sound of it starting sound the same, or had is slowed down?

Or is it spinning fast like usual but not firing?

Try priming the key several times to figure out if it is fuel related.

if it lags then it sounds like its just slow at cranking which means you probably need a new battery. have it checked at autozone for free.

its normal for batteries in cold weather to crank slow. if your batt has 12.6 v with the car off doesn't mean the batt is ok. its the cold cranking amps that matter.

yea i know. back in auto shop the teacher told us its not the voltage that matters. its the amps.
which sadly is the thing that can kill you.
you get 1 amp in you and your dead
