Quick GSR Spak Plug Q
Well im just curious......it seems that GSR engines come stock with Iridium Spark plugs...from factory. I have some NGK regular spark plugs as in just regular not even V power. Which i dont think they make for GSR. Will these spak plugs hurt performance or gas mileage. Its just i dont know when was the last time the previous owner replaced them and my friend let me have these plugs. I know for a fact that they are for GSR but was curious as to maybe side effects.
And sorry if its in wrong forum being its a GSR engine but its on my EJ8

Iridium, platinum, or copper - doesn't make a difference in the actual performance. copper plugs just don't last as long.
What's the actual part number for these plugs that you have?

NGK- BKR6ES-11 Stock No. 5553
Imjust curious cuz the plugs that are in there i think they are old. So i want to put these in for maybe a little while and then go and buy the OEM ones(Platinum) or the Iridiums.

b18c5-eh2 is right!! copper is 30k miles, platinum is 60k miles, iridium is 100k+ service life. the engine will run fine and the only changes you will see would be enhanced obd2 emissions testing.. you would see a difference on a 4 or 5 gas analyzer too!! honda spent millions and millions of dollars in research and development to come up with proper plugs designs per vehicle requirements.. my r&d department is broke right now so i think ill take their word for it!!

Well im currently unemployed and i seem to have a bigger issue at hand since my engine tried to overheat today.....so if anything since im in a BIG budget i rather fix the overheating problem than waste 25 bux or so on new plugs.
