currently im running a d16y8 with 2000 ex wire harnesses wit a p28 ecu using jumper harnesses from jhpusa.com and i bought the obdIIb to obdI jumper harnesses and i jus read on another forum that i should be using OBDIIA to OBD1 jumper harnesses. TRUE? does it matter that im running 2000 ex civic wire harnesses with 95 civic motor and 94 ecu?

im trying to figure out this same question with my gsr with d16y8 harness... but i dont believe you need the IIA, but could be wrong.

 

no, its not true, you should be using the obd2b to obd1 harness.

 

and is it coo if i run a d16y8 with 2000 civic ex wire harnesses and a p28 ecu?

You'll have to get it tuned to run right, and most people seem to have issues with timing differences between the D16Y8 and the D16Z6.

 

how do i tune it? what will be different if i dont tune it?
