Default gear removal

how to i open up the transmission so i can pull lsd in it? This is a race car and i really do not want to go to a shop. They wanted $1000 because of the custom work needed to make the lsd fit.

wow your building a race car and cant do this, haha. if the transmission is already out, take the casing off and just look at it. pretty simple. Just look at it. and try Searching for a step by step. I'm sure there is plenty of information on here.

You have to split the case apart...

i have built 2 race cars. The problem i am having is that it feels like something inside the case feels stuck. I thought it would be better to ask to make sure i am not missing bolts inside the case before i just try prying it apart.

Spend $40 and pick up a service manual? I wouldn't open the transmission without one anyways. The internals are WAY more complicated than cracking the case. Installing an LSD requires more than just wrench turning skillz, so you really should get a book to make sure all the sensitive tolerances are set right and all the bearings, torque specs, and everything are correct.
