Default bad converter....

as soon of you know im haveing some issues getitng my jdm h22 95 lude past emissions... they wont test it b.c of the idle surge. and i think iv got that problem figuard out....

now. i know the rings arnt bad but while reving at say 3k or less in my drive way (while trying to get the motor to surge so i can unplug the fast idle vavle and egr so i can see if one of those is bad.)

but anyways. on the back of my bumper/ front of my fathers car. it looks like oil splatter, idk maybe its just carbon built up and condesation together. and the revs make it splatter. but would this b b.c the cat conver is bad. its the orgianl one. and the car its self has seen 190k so would that make it do this. (i know sptting oil or carbon built up into the exhuast siniffer isnt a good way to pass so...) please help!!

How do you know the rings aren't bad?

I've never heard of a catalytic converter being bad because oil is shooting out of the exhaust. LOL

well for one. the motor runs extreamly well and has 42k miles on it and 2 this is my second jdm h22 put into this car and my last one had 65k and did the same exect thing.

so odds are. i didnt get two low mileage motors that run extreamly well and they both have bad rings... doubtful... i

t has to be someting in the exhuast. im not even sure that its oil this exhuast has been on this car for atleast 4 years. i bought it from a freind who had to for ATLEAST a year and iv had the car for 3 now

so im thinking its alot of carbon built up in the pipeing and with some condensation makeing it liqud.. and exhuast puressure to push it out.. (makeing it balck and looking like oil) im thinking that it could be makeing this splater effext on w.e is behind the exhuast when reved. so dont laugh... u didnt even read the whole thing...

actualy i just took a paper towls and it looks like its just carbon b.c its not like oil on the paper towl its just dirt.... sooo im guessing its just some dirttttty exhuast. so would replaceing the 190k cat resolve this from happening so i can finay get threw emissions

check your CELs for any codes >
check your gas mileage (good indicator for emissions) >
get a new cat converter (OEM or 3stage catalyst would be best)

Most everyone on here that goes with aftermarket cats chooses the Magnaflow/Carsound high flow cat (myself included). So I don't think you'll find anyone here that has used something similar to the product you posted. As far as the Carsound cat, I can't tell you if it will pass emissions or not because we aren't tested in my state. Maybe people in other states can reply to this with their experiences in passing emissions with it.

What mods do you have on your car? Sounds like it's running rich.

You didn't happen to go to Northeast High School? Your grammar indicates so. LOL

Up 'er in "Dena!! LOL!!
