stock head studs... reusable or no?

Default stock head studs... reusable or no?

doing a head gasket on my z6 and i have no idea if i can use em or not

personally IMO i would say no. they tend to want to stretch under thae last torque setting. i would just get ARP head bolts

yes you can reuse them being that the head is aluminum and bolts are steel they dont stretch that much at all. all though head studs would be a nice up grade

yeah i know with cast bocks and the whole "torque to yeild" you cant reuse studs but i was just making sure the same didnt apply to alluminum blocks. thanks

make sure when ya remove them to put them back in the same spot when re installing them

I've done at least 10 head jobs re-using the stock bolts without a single blown headgasket afterwards.

-Always make sure the holes in the block are cleaned out with air and brakleen before reinstalling the head
-Always oil the bolts with motor oil before installing
-Reinstall them in the same place as they came out of
