Default What is in our huge dashboards???

What in the world could possibly be filling up all that space inside our huge, long dashboards. Did they just make it really long because the windshield is so long and raked back so they had to make sure the seating position was underneath the roof or what? My friend and I started wondering this today when he made a comment about how far away from the windshield the seats are.

If you look a little bit harder the engine is place pretty far back and the header is right by the firewall. Otherwise nothing wrong with how it's place. I think our cars will look super weird if the windshield did not sit like how it does.

Yup the engine bay is so small when you first look at it, but look closer and you can see that it extends quite a bit into the dashboard. I assume there's not much more behind the dash than normally found.

I wonder if the next civic will have the engine in the passenger seat.

Really be able to hear that thing roar.

Yup. A good portion of the k20 is under the leading edge of the windshield. It's also a weird feeling getting into another car with a relatively "short" dashboard.
