How do i get this crap off of the dashboard?? Look....
I recently purchased my 92' Hatch, and there is ONE PROBLEM, on the dashboard the previous owner glued a small bag to the dash, to hold trash and junk, damn old people.... But anyways.
I couldnt get the glue off, there is still a good amount of this crusty crap on the dash, does anyone have any ideas to get rid of it? Or maybe have an idea what to put over it or something to look better? What would you do? And dont tell me replace the dash...
Here is the picture of it:
Yes i KNOW I HAVE THE Blue interior, i know you think its ugly but help me out here here...thanks
P.S. YES those are fingerprints, damn dust, and i know i sanded down the dash a bit while trying to get rid of the glue, my fault, but armor all hides that anyways....but the glue!

Try this thing called "De-solv-it." It works wonders when it comes to glue residue or anything sticky. But to be safe, before you use any chemicals or spray stuff that isn't sold to clean your car (like Armoral), do a test spot somewhere that it is not noticeable.
I feel for you though. One of the idiots that owned the car before me had one of those carpet dash covers and glued it on there. That stuff won't come off with anything I have tried. Good luck.

my integra had some sort of sticker on the dash at about that same spot when i bought it. I used alot of armor all and what didnt come up it made it look 100 times better. Its worth a try on your dash.Hope it helps.

If it were a softer glue I'd recommend SAR or goo gone. But since you say it's crusty those products won't work. You can try taking a cloth dampened with HOT HOT water and pressing it against the glue to see if you can soften it up then just peel it away or then try one of the above products. Otherwise just deal with it and put in a black interior eventually.

you can get stronger stuff than goo gone.
try Goof Off, it comes in a little orange tin that you squeeze, it smells hella strong and is tougher than goo gone.
3M also makes an adhesive remover thats stronger than goo gone I think, but I duno if it's as strong as goof off.
just going by scent goof off is gnarly!!
you could also try paint stripper? but try it on a safe spot no one will see first, incase it damages the dash.

if you sand your dash its going to look worse... the texture will be all full of scratch marks from the sand paper.

This would also be what I'd try first. Nail polish remover (acetone) will remove super glue, which appears to be what that is. If it's not super glue, try Goo Gone as others have suggested, or mineral spirits.
