Headers causing Emissions problem??

Default Headers causing Emissions problem??

today i went to my local muffler shop to custom fit my megan headers and magnaflow cat back and the guy that works there said if i put aftermarket headers and cat back i wont be able to pass emissions because im not running a cat is this true?

hmm not too sure on how strict it is where you live i live in PA got 3 inch custom pipe from down pipe back no cat what so ever but i do have a hole where my o2 sensors go and i passed right through. but i also was down half a tank of gas i guess they wanted to test drive my car. so IMO do your custom fit exhaust but save the FULL stock exhaust(header,DP,cat,ect) and when you go for emissions just put on the stock one.

yea thats what i was thinking but i didnt want to go through the hassle every year and if it was true i was gonna try to find a way around it but thanks for the help
