no cat....
will my car be even louder if i took off my cat. and made piping straight back from the headers. i got custom exhaust i did but its from the cat. back. will this pass inspection?

meh its weird i had a fart can and a cat as my old set up LOUD AS ****... now i have test pipe and apexi ws and quiet as ****... guess it depends on the exaust

Your car will most likely be louder, but by how much depends on what muffler/resonator setup you go with.
And yes, you can easily pass inspection without a cat. Here in TN, our inspection consists of a visual inspection and a series of idle tests at varying RPM's. I passed mine with flying colors and I'm running turbo ---> downpipe ---> straight pipe back to muffler. No cat. My cat-delete pipe is painted bright silver, so the inspection guy glanced and thought it was a cat. Not exactly legal, but hey, it worked. A properly-tuned, well-running engine is the best way to go catless and still pass emissions. The visual inspection will probably depend on your state and/or how much the inspector cares at that moment.
