Ok, so when i bought my car the guy gave me a spare engine and he had told me that it was the exact same as my car has.(Z6) When I was looking at it I came to find that it is a (Y8). The bottom block is no good I guess a rod blew so there is a massive hole in the bottom but the head is good. My question is would my car have better power if I put the (Y8) head on my (Z6) block?

 

better power? Yes a little bit, most people doing vtec head swaps, n/a d or turbo d series use a y8 head on a z6 block.

What are you questioning? The y8 head on z6 block? I personally like the y8 head over the z6!

 

My question is would putting the y8 head on a z6 block produce better power, torque, hp?
