Transmission installation help(AUTO) I can't get it flush
My first post WOOT!
Well the motor went out on a 94 Accord I have with the F22. I decided to drop in a new motor, everything went smooth until I had to bolt the Automatic Transmission back on to the motor. I pulled the motor and tranny out of the car to do this. There seems to be about 1 cm or 1/2 gap all around where the tranny housing mates with the motor. I'm pretty sure I installed the torque converter correctly but I'm not a 100% positive. I mounted the torque converter onto the flywheel first then tried to match it up with the tranny. The car was also in neutral when the transmission was pulled, could this pose a problem? Is there any sort of alignment that must be done? Thanks in advance, if anyone needs more info I'll try to help as much as possible

By any chance have you gotten doubled up on the alignment dowels?
A better install method is to have the TC in the trans, then bolt it to the flex plate, 3 bolts at a time from underneath at the rear of the oil pan, after the trans is bolted to the block

The motor I got came from a 5-speed so it come with the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. I removed all of those things including the flywheel and installed the all the things from the automatic tranny assembly so i shouldn't be double doweled. Do i need to do anything with that bearing that is in the torque converter?
If he doubled up on the dowels, I would think it would be more than 1 cm off, but maybe I'm wrong.
I think the dowels are just a little snug and he needs to start the bolts into the transmission and tighten them down carefully and not use a lot of pressure when tightening and see if the gap starts closing. I usually have a little gap before I put in the first bolt whenever I'm installing a transmission, but I usually am installing in the car, not out of the car.

thanks guys for all the help I finally got it on. I don't know if it makes a difference but i took the torque coverter off and attached it to the transmission first then bolted it up to the motor. After that i bolted the torque converter to the flywheel in the little gap at the bottom of the motor. Maybe the order in which I was doing it was wrong or I'm just not that lucky. Thanks for all the help you guys gave!
