starting problems 93 accord
is it the starter or the soleniod that needs to be replaced when the car wont even "click" over with a good battery and good terminals. the link for this in the sticky is broken. can anybody post a link that could help me out.
its my daily driver and everything has been working perfectly. everyday i got out for an hour and listen to the radio. I thought it was dead, so i tried jumping it and after 2 minutes i didnt even get a "click" or anything.

How long do you drive the car for between these "Go out and listen to the radio for an hour" I drained the battery dead on an '88 I own after 3/4 of an hour!
If it's only short (5-10 minute) trips, you're not driving the car enough to recharge the battery.
At night, turn on the lights and see if the light dim when you try starting the car.
I would start with:
Remove, clean and reattach the battery cables
Recharge the battery
Make sure the heavy cable to the starter solenoid is tight
If it still doesn't crank over (or respond) grab a 12v test light and probe the signal wire to the solenoid (12 to 14 gauge wire) and see if the test probe lights up when the key is engaged. If no response, the ignition switch is trash.

well good news. i guess mine has a immobilizer type thing, cause i found the key clip thing on the floorboard this morning when pops and me went to push start it. must has been bumped off. its at the bottom of the dash, driver side, to the right of the steering column, right infront of my right knee basically...plugged that sucker back in, started like a champ. hooray!
