I need ur help for an idling problem.
i cleaned the aicv, fitv, t.b. what else could it possibly be. its throwing a 5 code, a 5 code is a map sensor. does the map sensor affect idling in any way? also ive heard people changing it a few times but it was still throwing that code. what are other possible options to help idling?could it possibly be the hoses are in the wrong places? thanks

can you use a voltmeter? if so back probe the pos and neg wires into the sensor, with the key on engine off you should read about 4.5 volts. if not then replace the sensor. if it does then check your wiring back to the pcm to see if its shorted out or has a broken wire

Well if you dont want to test it, then I guess you could just buy a new one and put it in.
Yes the map does affect idel and if your ecu is throwing that code, its probably throwing it for a reason.
You can spray carb cleaner all around the intake manifold and search for a leak.

yes your MAP will affect idle bc it calculates how much pressure is in your intake manifold. it works with your TPS as a 'load sensor'. have you adjusted your TB yet?

hoses hooked up wrong could also cause this, i dont know about the code but it would cause rough idle.
does your hood still have the vacuum hose sticker?

what sticker? and yea i cleaned out my tb also and put it back in. im going to try the map sensor on friday and see if it works if not ill check for a leak with the cleaner.

i started the car today and the idle was a lil bit more normal.
it would start then after about 10 seconds it would go from 2 to 1 and so on. then i started it today and it was at 1 for like 15 seconds or so then it when to 2 and stayed there so what minor adjustment could i do and whats the normal warm up for the rpms?

for my 94 LS i think warm up rpms is usually about 1800 or so. but you can adjust your throttle plate on your throttle body while its warm
i turned on the bad boy this morning and it started at alittle over 1 and stayed there so theres some improvement. but only one thing i tryed taking the hose off the canister purge (the black one not the red one)(on the top) and it wouldnt come off i guess from it being there so long but its connected to an adapter or extention. shouldnt that be all one hose from the rails behind the im?
i would like to know where the hoses really go connected and if the one with the adapter should just all be one hoese please let me know thanks
i dont feel like going outside and checking my hoses to tell you the truth haha but ill take a pic tomorrow and put it up buttttt idk how much it will help bc dont you have a 90? i gotta 94 but i still will tomorrow when its light out
