alt isnt charging batt

alt isnt charging batt
on my friends 92 LS the alternator wasnt charging the batt so we replaced it and it still isnt charging. the voltage drop on the output wire is .2 volts (normal) and the voltage on the batt running is 12.9 not the proper 14.6 ish area. batt is also good with no blown fuses. anyone have any info on where to search from here?
