Default My answer to the EVO H2B clutch problem i was having

So after installing my evo kit, i found out about the clutch problem a couple others had. Well turns out i had the same problem. Clutch didnt seem to engage fully and would grind at high rpms or feel stiff shifting. I felt the slave was way too close to the clutch fork and all the pressure wasnt letting the slave push the fork far enough. So i got some longer bolts and where the adapter mounts to the engine block i used those holes to mount the slave. Then i custom made a rod that would make up for the length difference. So far so good shifts great and no problems yet. I know alot have used the evo kit with no problems but this is just my experience. Here are some pics of the new rod and how it sits compared to the normal evo setup

After:

New Rod vs stock (i actually shortened new rod a bit more after this pic)

Very interesting. . .

I myself, machined about 20 different length rods and none of them solved my problem.

I'm glad it worked for you . . .

i haven't noticed any problems like the such. i'm hoping it doesn't happen . i think i'll be switching to QSD once the real build starts anyway.

Alot of people havent had any problems at all but there are some that have. I just thought i would share how i solved it. Also i love the way the evo kit sits the motor but i would change the flywheel and fork setup to a qsd if i ever pull the tranny

Ok so i guess this didnt fix my problem. I went to the dyno today and got tuned. Well after the tune was done, we let it cool down to make the final numbers pull and the clutch slipped when vtec hit. It has to be cause the rod length is putting to much pressure on the fork when the clutch is out. Im really getting pissed with this. ANybody have any other ideas? I really dont want to drop my tranny to switch flywheels and clutch fork. Why cant we use the stock b-series fork with this setup? Maybe thats the problem???

take a 1/8" off the rod and go drive it

do about 40-50mph put it in 4th gear and floor it and if it start slipping then its time to buy a new flywheel that works with the evo kit or but a qsd kit

the flywheel is the problem not the fork

I dont understand why it wouldnt work. I mean the plates are the same thickness. Any ideas why a qsd flywheel and and b-series fork wont work with the evo kit? I can shave the rod down but its like its either too short or too long, im starting to think its not going to work out

Ok so i guess they took a look at the problem and think its because the slave is at an angle. So they have made a new slave cylinder block now and have to use the stock b series fork. I really hope this is the answer it just sucks i have to drop the tranny to put this fork on and pray it works

that just sucks

only two things to do

buy a new flywheel(that works with the evo kit) or buy a qsd kit
