they are the same from what i have seen and heard in less you have a type r and want to smog it. if you have the money buy the skunk 2 i think its cleaner but if you want to save 50 bucks then by the type r. Cops might try and give you **** for the skunk 2 mani but its legal

Hi,
I have the skunk2 ProSeries Intake Manifold and it is lighter than the TypeR IM, also it can be Bored out to 75mm with no problems which the TypeR has problems when you have to bore it out like cracking at the IAC section etc...I have seen it happen to many of my friends and they shift to the Skunk2 IM. Also yes you can use the 60mm Throttle body with the Skunk2 IM no problems there, I'm using mine the same way like you plan to do....
Take a look at my link and you will see the setup..

http://www.myspace.com/ny4pd and click on the pics and you will see the car setup...
good luck...

so u mean to say my b16a2 would run good with skunk2 and a 60mm tb? ive heard issues that if your car is stock and u put skunk2 im it would bog a lot and loss a lot of power. so u hv any problem with it? how much power did u gain?

You won't have any problems with it, Depends on what other mods you may have in the car you may have to retune but other than that, I have never come acroos any problems at all...I don't agree with raidacaipo coments, because the itr has problems when you bore them out to big like 75-mm, to be sure take a itr manifold to a machine shop and tell them to bore it out to 75-mm and you what.? They will tell you that it can not be done because the side tends to crack near the IAC area. The Skunk2 IM will give you alot of low end torque and Top end power, That is what i notice in my B16A2 build, big difference, Lets just say that I gain the same amount of torque as a JDM B16A with my B16A2 motor after putting in the Skunk2 IM.
